Whenever I tell someone that Iam a girl guide, they would say that’s unbelievable. Why? It’s becauseeveryone thinks I look feeble! “And indeed I am,” I always reply in this way, “but girl guide trains me up.”

I have been a girl guide forthree years now, and I could tell you that things I learned in guiding aretotally different from the things taught in school. Camping, knots, outdoorcook……there are thousands of fun things to be done in guiding and these arejust some examples of them. I have to admit that they are quite tough, yetthe joy of success in finishing the tasks is indescribable!

Except for the fun activities,my second most valuable asset in guiding are the girl guide friends I met inmy coy. Due to my body illness (scoliosis and asthma), I cannot do muchtoils, and this increases the work load of my patrol members. However, theyare so considerate and nice. They never abandon me. I feel so glad that I havefriends like them.

Last but not the least, I wantto state my gratitude to my guiders Mina, Charmaine, Kathy, Sasa, 珮欣for their support. Without them, I wouldnot become a girl guide, and even to succeed my dream of getting the HKGGAChief Commissioner’s Award. Thank you so much for everything you haveprepared for me and most importantly, your love and care, thank you.
